Kamla Ronan

My Early Years

My name is Kamla Ronan. I am the eldest of three children born to Phyllis, whom passed away in 2007 from colon cancer (former Chicago high school principal and guidance counselor), and Eddie Hodges (retired Chicago police officer).

The lovely couple met in Chicago’s Englewood area at the young age of ten, and married after completing high school at Hyde Park’s St. Thomas the Apostle and Lindblom in 1967, respectfully. They continued to grow their family in Chicago’s Roseland area. Phyllis successfully completed two Master’s degree programs while working at Quaker Oats Company, and Eddie worked two jobs to secure a savings for his growing family.

Catholic education was very important to the family, therefore we attended catholic schools through the elementary and most of our high school years. After graduating high school, I attended Southern Illinois University (Carbondale, Illinois) and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor’s in Arts in Biological Science, and worked in optical sales and as a Quality Assurance Technician.

My Beliefs

I believe that an integral part of the total individual includes nurturing the whole mind, body and spirit through education, resources and character. I am committed to offering a quality, ethical service including educating the consumer or client in all aspects of real estate.

I believe that all questions and concerns are valid from apartment rentals to commercial purchase or leasing. I believe that helping others is a privilege therefore I eagerly involved myself in helping Washington Park youth in a mentor program (2005-2006), as well as participated in school and church activities with my children.

In addition, I supported the relief efforts in Saipan, MP during the tropical storm in the South Pacific (2004-2005) by assisting with the island cleanup of debris.

I am a member of the National Association of Realtors, The Chicago Association of Realtors, and CEO of Mission Accomplished, Incorporated, a not for profit organization developed to assist homeless and the less fortunate members of Chicago’s Englewood area.

My Motivation – My Boys!

Family and friends have always been a huge part of my success. My children are truly an inspiration! My eldest son, Cal, holds many awards for his artistic accomplishments, including being selected the First Place Champion Boogie Boarder in Saipan, MP, the pumpkin award contest, first place winning basketball team in Catholic League in sixth grade, and artwork selection displayed in DePaul University in seventh grade. My youngest, Cory, enjoys bittyball, baseball, pokemon class, and kickball. With the joy of motherhood, many life lessons have a even greater purpose, and for that I am ever so grateful!
